The large white flowers are Night Blooming Cereus and come from a Cereus Cactus that only blooms during certain times of the year. Usually this is once a year, but with the recent changes in weather patterns this cactus blooms about 3 times a year during the summer nights. It can easily produce over 200 of these flowers a year and sometimes there may be a dozen or more blooms in one night.

Other images here include plants and flowers some of which are indigenous to the Sonoran Desert such as the barrel cactus, however a few are urban transplants. This gallery ends with some images from some Arizona Monsoons including a few lightning strikes.
